The following videos shows more examples of solving application of trigonometry word problems. Example 1: Suppose that a 10 meter ladder is leaning against a building such that the angle of elevation from ground to the building is 62 degrees. Find the distance of the foot of the ladder from the wall.
Tenth class mathematics chapter 12 exercises 12.1 and 12.2 solutions are given.
Trigonometry Word Problems Example: You fly a kite 4 feet offthe ground with 300 feet of string. There is a 40 mile per hour wind, and the kite forms a 29 angle from the ground. How high is the kite (from the ground)? Basic Steps: 1) Draw a picture 2) Label the parts 3) Isolate the triangle 4) Solve 5) Answer the question. Another answer According to Morris Kline, in his book named- Mathematical Thought from Ancient to Modern Times, proclaimed that ‘trigonometry was first developed in connection with astronomy, with applications to navigation and construction of calendars. Trigonometric formulae are useful for solving problems in two dimensions. However, in the real world all objects are three dimensional, so it is important that we extend the application of the area, sine and cosine formulae to three dimensional situations. Drawing a three dimensional diagram is a crucial step in finding the solution to a problem.
These solutions are very easy to understand. First study the chapter 12 well for many times.
Observe the example probems and solutions well. Try them in your own method. Next solve the exercise problems.
