Oculus Air Link. Oculus Air Link allows you to discover and pair your Oculus Quest 2 headset to your Oculus-ready PC over a secure Wi-Fi network. You can opt in to this experimental feature from the Experimental Features section of Settings. Follow the instructions on our support site to set up Oculus Air Link. The OS X release is well underway and coming soon. If you have a Rift application or experience built for the original Rift development kit (DK1), you’ll need to integrate the latest SDK and/or engine integrations before it can run on DK2.
Mac users who want to start developing software for the Facebook-owned Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Headset platform can now do so. Oculus today released an update to their software SDK that opens up support for users on OS X:
Notably, the Oculus SDK is now available for Mac OSX, along with a version of the Oculus Runtime and Unity Tuscany Demo for Mac. There’s no word on when Linux support will be ready.

Mac display drivers are unavailable, so users will need to use Extended Display mode on the Mac. To make full use of the software platform, eager developers will need to gain access to the Oculus Hardware Development Kit, which is a $350 online pre-order item.
Facebook-owned virtual reality startup Oculus VR on Tuesday announced the availability of version 0.4.1 of its software development kit, bringing developer support for the popular headgear to Apple's desktop operating system.
Alongside the new SDK come Mac OS X-compatible versions of the Oculus Runtime and Unity Tuscany demo, according to industry blog Road to VR. Oculus says that because they do not ship a display driver for the Mac, the Rift will work in Extend Desktop mode.
There are a few lingering issues with the Mac-focused SDK. Developers will need to manually restart the Mac OVR service after updating firmware, for instance, and Unity apps will experience higher latency on Apple's platform.
The Oculus Rift, a virtual reality headset whose development is led by legendary Id Software co-founder John Carmack, has long supported gaming on the Mac. Until now, however, Mac-based developers were unable to compile Rift-compatible apps, forcing them to use Windows instead.
Facebook purchased Oculus earlier this year for $400 million in cash, $1.6 billion in stock, and a $300 million earn-out.
